Scrog net sitting at about 70% right now

Week 6 of veg and the net is really starting to come together. Running a 60x60cm square screen about 25cm above the canopy, and right now i'd say roughly 70% of the squares have a shoot tucked or growing into them. The center filled in first like it always does, the outer corners are the ones i'm still coaxing. Bending and tucking every other day at this point.

The main structure underneath is four topped mains that i spread out early, so the branching has been really even coming up through the screen. No dominant colas trying to race ahead, which is exactly what you want before flip. Every shoot that pokes above the net gets tucked back under and redirected toward an open square. It's slow work but the canopy is genuinely flat right now, we're talking maybe a 2cm height difference across the whole thing.

I'm going to give it another week to fill those corners before i flip to 12/12. Probably could flip now and let stretch fill the rest, but i'd rather go in with the net closer to 85 or 90 percent covered. Stretch on this particular strain runs moderate so i don't want to count on it to do the heavy lifting.

Also did a light defoliation two days ago, pulled maybe 15 leaves that were blocking light to lower bud sites. Nothing aggressive, just enough to open up the canopy underneath the net so those lower shoots have a reason to keep pushing. The plant still has plenty of leaf mass above the screen.

Post a pic of your scrog if you're running one right now, curious to see how other nets are looking this time of year.

Canopy looks solid from the description, 2cm variance is genuinely impressive. Most people don't put that kind of work into the corners.

My only pushback would be on waiting for 85-90% before flipping. I've run that same patient approach and honestly the fills that happen during stretch can be cleaner sometimes, shoots have more momentum and slot into empty squares more naturally than when you're forcing a tired veg plant into corners week 7. Depends a lot on the strain though. What are you running? Because if the genetics have any tendency to go leggy you might actually get better coverage flipping at 75-80 and letting that early stretch do the corner work.

I made the mistake once of holding a Blue Cheese cut in veg way past where it wanted to be just to hit some arbitrary fill percentage and the plant was just done with it by the time i flipped. Stretch was sluggish, structure felt stiff. Never again.

The defoliation timing sounds right to me, two days before flip is pretty much my window too. Gives everything a chance to settle before the light change stresses it further.
