How it works

1. 1

   Get your seeds

   Freebie packs go out with orders and in giveaway drops. Any pack you got from us is eligible — freebie, auction win, or bought.

2. 2

   Start one thread per plant

   Post it in Grow-Along Competitions before the plant is three weeks old, so the run is documented from the start rather than reconstructed at the end. Use the template — strain, medium, light, setup — and your entry is tagged for the season automatically.

3. 3

   Keep it updated

   Post a dated update at least every two weeks, with photos, through to harvest. Threads that go quiet for a month stop being eligible. This is the actual requirement — not the size of the plant.

4. 4

   Show the problems too

   Deficiencies, pests, a pheno that disappointed, a run you killed. Judges weigh honest documentation heavily, and the threads other growers learn from are rarely the flawless ones.

5. 5

   Judging

   Staff score on documentation quality, how the grower handled problems, and final result, in that order. Community votes on the threads are taken into account. Winners are announced in the category when the season closes.

6. 6

   Fair play

   Your own grow, your own photos. One entry per plant, no limit on how many plants you enter. Reposting someone else’s grow ends the entry and the account.

Entering means you are happy for your thread and its photos to stay public on this forum. Grow only what is legal where you live — check your local rules before you start. Royal King Seeds staff moderate the category and may close entries that break the forum guidelines.
