Understanding runoff — what your plant is telling you
Runoff is the water that drains from the bottom of your pot after watering. Test the pH and EC/PPM of runoff. If pH drops significantly (input 6.5, runoff 5.2), there's salt buildup — flush with plain water. If EC is way higher than input, same thing. Healthy runoff should be within 0.5 pH and 200-400 PPM of your input.
