Add rice water to your compost tea, thank me later

Been doing this for about two seasons now. When i cook my compost tea, i add the leftover water from rinsing uncooked rice. That starchy water is loaded with naturally occurring lactobacillus and feeds your existing microbial populations hard. Maybe a quarter cup per gallon of tea before you aerate it overnight.

The lacto strains in rice water work really well alongside the fungi and bacteria you're already cultivating in a living soil setup. They help break down organic matter faster and seem to keep the pH in a stable, plant-friendly range near the root zone. My earthworm counts in the beds went up noticeably after i started doing this consistently, which tells me the whole ecosystem is happier.

Just use plain white or brown rice, nothing processed or fortified. Rinse it once, save that cloudy water, and toss the rest into the tea bucket. No need to buy a separate lactobacillus product when your kitchen already has it.

Ran a Blue Dream photoperiod cut through this regiment last run and the resin production in the final three weeks was some of the best i've seen from that strain. Healthy microherd, healthy plant. Pretty simple relationship once you trust it.
