The importance of dark periods — do plants need sleep?
Yes! During dark periods, cannabis processes the sugars created during photosynthesis. This is when significant growth happens at the cellular level. 18/6 is preferred over 24/0 because the dark period allows the plant to rest and grow roots. Some growers report better terpene development with proper dark periods.
