Aloe vera powder changed my watering routine for good
Six years in and i still get excited about simple stuff. Started adding a small pinch of aloe vera powder to every watering about two years ago and i genuinely don't want to grow without it now. We're talking maybe 1/8 teaspoon per gallon, nothing crazy.
The saponins in aloe act as a natural surfactant and the acemannan really does seem to support microbial life in the soil layer. In a no-till setup that matters a lot because you're leaning on living biology to do the feeding for you. I noticed my top inch of soil stopped hydrophobic crusting almost completely after a few weeks of consistent use.
For what its worth, i get the raw freeze-dried powder, not the gel packets and not the stuff with preservatives. The processing matters. Micro Ingredients is the brand i've been using off Amazon, runs about 20 bucks and lasts forever at the dose i'm using.
If you're a beginner just getting into organics, this is one of those low-risk additions you can start right now without overthinking it. It's not going to hurt anything and the cost per watering is basically nothing. My Mephisto runs especially loved it late in veg.

I’ve been running some The Seed Pharm autos lately in living soil and they’ve loved it, particularly in late veg. If you're looking to stock up on more genetics while experimenting with stuff like this, they’ve got the BOGOAUTO deal running right now which makes it easy and affordable
