How to properly flush before harvest — or should you?
The great debate: does flushing improve flavor? Some swear by 1-2 weeks of plain water before harvest. Others say studies show no measurable difference. My take: in synthetic…
SCROG net technique — complete step by step guide
SCROG (Screen of Green) uses a horizontal net to create a perfectly flat canopy. Install net at 12-16 inches above pots. As branches grow through, tuck them under and spread…
Topping vs FIMming — which produces more colas?
Topping removes the top growth tip cleanly, creating 2 main colas. FIMming (F*ck I Missed) removes about 75% of the tip, potentially creating 4+ colas. Topping is more reliable…
Growing in closet — will it work?
Absolutely! Many people start with closet grows. Key needs: reflective surface (mylar or white paint), exhaust fan pulling air out, intake hole for fresh air, LED light, and a…
Tap root came out during germination — did I kill it?
If the taproot snapped off completely, the seed is probably done. If it just got exposed or slightly damaged, plant it immediately — taproot facing down, 1/2 inch deep. Handle…
What does LST mean and when should I start?
LST = Low Stress Training. You bend branches down and tie them so the canopy is flat and even. Start at the 4th-5th node. This exposes more bud sites to light and can double your…
Help! My seedling fell over. Can I save it?
Yes! Gently prop it up with a toothpick or small stake. Mound a little soil around the base. Add a fan for air circulation to strengthen the stem. She'll recover in a day or two.…
Why does everyone recommend autoflowers for beginners?
Because they're foolproof: flower automatically (no light schedule changes), finish fast (8-10 weeks), stay small (easy to manage), and are more forgiving of mistakes. You…
First grow shopping list — what do I actually need?
Essentials: grow tent, LED light, exhaust fan + carbon filter, fabric pots, soil, pH meter, pH up/down, nutrients, timer. Nice to have: hygrometer, clip fan, plant ties. Skip for…
What's the easiest method to start seeds?
Paper towel method: soak seed 12hrs in water, then place between damp (not dripping) paper towels on a plate, cover with another plate, keep warm and dark. Check every 12 hours.…
My plant is growing sideways — is this normal?
If it's growing toward the light, it's phototropism — totally normal. Rotate the pot 90° every day so it grows straight. If it's falling over, the stem is weak — add a small fan…
How long does a full cannabis grow take?
Autoflowers: 8-12 weeks seed to harvest. Photoperiods: 3-6 months depending on veg time. Quick breakdown: germination (3-7 days), seedling (1-2 weeks), veg (2-8 weeks), flower…
Can I grow 2 different strains in the same tent?
Yes! But be aware they may grow at different rates and heights. Use LST to keep the canopy even. The main challenge is feeding — if one strain needs more nutrients than the…
What are "fan leaves" and should I remove them?
Fan leaves are the big solar panels that power the plant. Don't remove them unless they're blocking bud sites that can't be repositioned by tucking or training. Light defoliation…
Is smell really a problem with indoor growing?
YES. Cannabis in flower smells STRONG — your whole house/apartment will reek without a carbon filter. Get an inline fan + carbon filter from day 1. AC Infinity makes the best…
How many hours of light do cannabis plants need?
Seedling/Veg: 18 hours on, 6 hours off (18/6). Flower (photoperiods): 12 on, 12 off (12/12). Autoflowers: 18/6 or 20/4 throughout entire grow — they flower automatically…
Do autoflowers need nutrients? Or just soil?
In pre-amended soil like Fox Farm, autos need minimal to no added nutrients for the first 3-4 weeks. After that, a light feed at half strength is usually enough. Autoflowers are…
Best time to water cannabis plants — morning or night?
Water when lights first come on. This gives the plant the whole light period to use the water. Watering before lights off can lead to sitting in wet soil all night, which…
Why did my seedling stop growing? 2 weeks old and stalled
Most common causes: overwatering (let soil dry between waterings), cold temperatures (below 68°F slows growth), root bound in tiny starter pot (transplant to bigger container),…
What's the difference between indica and sativa growth patterns?
Indicas grow short, bushy, and wide with fat leaves. Sativas grow tall, lanky, and stretchy with thin leaves. Hybrids are somewhere in between. For small tents, indicas or…
