High CBD strains worth growing – medical cannabis seeds guide
If you're growing for medical use, these are the CBD strains I've personally grown and tested:
Pure CBD (minimal THC):
- ACDC: 20:1 CBD:THC, no high, great for anxiety/inflammation
- Charlotte's Web: the original medical strain, consistent CBD
- Cannatonic: 1:1 ratio, mild relaxation with therapeutic benefit
Balanced (1:1 CBD:THC):
- Harlequin: functional relief, can work during the day
- Pennywise: great for pain, mild euphoria
- Dance World: uplifting with medical benefit
CBD-dominant but with some THC:
- Sour Tsunami: 10:1 CBD, pioneering medical strain
- Remedy: very calming, pre-sleep
CBD strains are NOT less potent — they're differently potent. The entourage effect of CBD + THC together is stronger medicine than either alone.

Cannatonic 1:1 is amazing. I grew it for a friend with chronic pain and they said it was more effective than any dispensary CBD product they'd tried. The whole-plant entourage effect is real.
ACDC is great too but almost zero THC — good if you need to stay completely clear-headed.
I grew Harlequin last year and it's become my daytime go-to. Just enough THC to take the edge off, but the CBD keeps you functional. Perfect for work days when you need pain relief.
